Sorry my blog responses were a little late this week. With it being Easter weekend, I totally spaced getting on here and doing those, but a fun weekend with family and friends was just what I needed right now.
I was a little worried about developing infographics for both books, I thought it would be really difficult to do, especially never having read the Maze Runner before and reading Lord of the Flies sophomore year of high school. It wasn’t too bad though. I found myself enjoying reading through the different information on the internet though for the Maze Runner. On Tuesday, I went into my dad’s classroom (yes, I teach at the same school as my dad) to find a three ring binder for sub plans. I opened it up and the whole synopsis, plot development, everything about Lord of the Flies happened to be in the folder I picked up, so it worked out rather nicely.
I found myself really enjoying coming up with ideas for the two different books and realized that if a teacher were to take all of our ideas and put them into one unit, it would be an awesome unit. It would probably a lot of fun for the kids as well that would give them lots of different choices for assignments. Doing the infographic also showed me how awesome of an assignment that would be for kids to do at the end of reading a book in place of a book report or at least I think it would be more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great week here.
