The Maze Runner's main metaphor is life. The book also has nine major themes that I came across. I tried to match up themes with what is actually experienced in life. We all end in adulthood or the "real" world thinking we have reached freedom, when in reality it is "freedom." We still have rules, regulations, and time frames, we just are responsible for ourselves at this point. It's not always the life we think it would be when we are growing up and can't wait to be an adult.
